Clouds are full of promise. They bring rain for the Earth, shade from the sun and can change the light around us so that we see our World differently. I especially like what I call “storm light”. When the clouds and light combine to create an eerie effect. This light always brings rain or snow. Sometimes it brings lightning and thunder and it always brings change.
On Sunday, on our walk around Neck Point, I took quite a few pictures of the clouds over the mountains and ocean. They seemed particularly interesting that morning. Neck Point was particularly beautiful this last Sunday. The wildflowers were blooming profusely and the light was beautiful. The air was clear and a person could see a very long way. It was a good day.
I got many things accomplished; I made waffles from scratch for breakfast; Cooked beef stew with dumplings, for my husband and biscuits, for me and made a fresh strawberry crisp; Maybe it was a good day because I ate too much! There was the great walk in the morning and then painting the shell in the afternoon as well.
I painted Tourmaline on Sunday. The first painting of this year. I do have a few ideas for more, but I need to find the time to knit them up!
The last couple of days I have been putting the shell together. I had forgotten how long it takes to do the job properly. I usually knit in the round and avoid the sewing up part!!
Joy was in the store yesterday and very kindly modelled the shell for some pictures. It looks gorgeous on her! I hope that it will look as good on me.
Ria came into the store yesterday as well. She loves to knit lace, and she also has knit a few of my patterns. Right now she working on the Edging the Pink KAL. Her Roses, Roses wrap is looking fabulous. I love the richness of the black bead on the red yarn!
I hope that your knitting is going well and that you have time to walk and take in the world around you. Clouds or no clouds!
