A Rose by any Other Name

“Rose is a rose is a rose” – Gertrude Stein

There is something sad and sweet about finishing.

The last piece of the Edging the Pink KAL is now up and ready to download.  It has been a wonderful journey and I have enjoyed every minute of it!

For the scarf knitters this will be a very fast finish – lots of beads but quick on and quick off.  I love a knitted fringe and the addition of beads adds a wonderful weight and drape.  This is one finish that I will be using again.

The beaded, knitted fringe.

Fiona’s shawl uses two colours for a bouquet of beautiful roses.

The shawl knitters have a much longer finish.  They are looking at a long attached edge, very traditional.  The beading in the center of the edging, echo’s the center of the trellis pattern and the beads on the edge just add the finishing touch.

Another rose in Fiona’s bouquet.

Fiona is madly knitting on the edge to her shawl.  When it is in finished I will post some pictures.

A very traditional Edging.

You will have until next saturday to download the pattern for free.  After that it will be deactivated and then the finishing touches will go on before Roses, Roses goes up for sale.

I hope that you have enjoyed the journey as much as I have.  I know that I will enjoy my new scarf – I hope that you will enjoy yours.  I can hardly wait for some cool weather!

Find the last section in this version of Roses, Roses.

Happy Knitting

Lynette

The Finished Scarf, approx 10 inches wide and 72 inches long.
