West Coast Indian Summer – Incredible!

A gorgeous morning at Piper’s Lagoon

I can take a breath……

The bathroom is finished.  I will post pictures once the Stained Glass Poppies are up!

The Vogue project is done and gone and I can think of other things again.  I am finishing my Purple “Wrap”sody with the extra ball of yarn I found in my stash – no more short sleeves!  I am also working on a couple of new shawl ideas and a new beads and lace KAL.  More later on that!

The incredible colour of the changing leaves of the Gary Oaks at Pipers Lagoon, highlighted by the waters on the Lagoon side.

It was Canadian Thanksgiving this last weekend.  Our dinner was on Sunday; 15 friends and family joined us to share in the joy of this season!  Turkey, ham, vegetables and desserts, washed down with a glass or two of wine.  It was a wonderful evening.

The incredible duration of this glorious weather has allowed many walks – two of the best have been at Piper’s Lagoon Park.

Garry Oak growing off the side of the Piper Lagoon point!

The Park is home to Garry Oaks, a rather unique hardwood tree, that is found on the Island.  There are not many groves left of this size.  They usually grow close to the Ocean and their trunks are twisted and shaped by the wind.  They are wonderful to photograph!

Coastal Mountain Range outlined by Sea and Sly!

The air has been incredibly clear and the slow change of temperature and the dryness has allowed many of the trees to show colours that we don’t usually get to see.  The Coastal Mountain Ranges are so easy to see right now, shown, outlined beautifully by the colours of sky and sea – no fog, no clouds.  What a place to live!

Happy Knitting
