Beautiful Morning

Another beautiful morning – Labour Day Weekend – Lake Cowichan!

When I woke up this morning and looked up at the sky it was dark, dark blue; there were stars twinkling and enough ambient light that I could see the white clouds scattered here and there as I looked up.  Now the sky is clear and soft, peachy orange in the East, changing to pale blue grey as your eye moves Westward – a beautiful morning.

I love mornings.  I get up and start my day quietly, usually with tea – this morning it is Library Tea from Murchies.  I will write the blog, work on patterns, or knit, in the peace of the morning.  Usually, my brain is less cluttered and finds it easier to accomplish the things I want to accomplish – now if I could only teach Sohpie to close the door when she comes back it – Brrr the air cold this morning!!

Introducing the Lauren Tree Slouchy – a very voluminous hat with fringe and button details!

Crown detail of “Lauren Tree”

I finished the slouchy.  I wanted to thank those of you who sent me suggestions for names.  There were quite a few between the blog and Facebook.  The name I really liked came from Dorothy Gregory on Facebook – Lauren Tree.

I have been pretty obsessive about working on the Dreamin’ project.  The yarn is so beautiful and it is knitting up so fast.  I want to wear it!

I am amazed at the length I am getting out the yarn.  Jeannette is a sport weight silk/cashmere with only 150 yds per skein, but it is knitting much larger.

Dreamin’ – in progress! If only touch could be conveyed over the computer!

It must be the all over faggotting stitch – it is getting even more coverage than I had hoped or expected.  Right now it is over 2 feet long and I an only into the second ball about 25%.  It helps that the rows are steadily getting shorter!

I wore the little cowl I had painted to work on Monday.  I was very pleased with it.  Soft, warm and drapey – it sat right where it was supposed too and didn’t move around too much.

Me and the Baby Lace Cowl at work!

#26 – Cabled Topper

This week the Holiday Vogue is available in most stores in the U.S. most likely Eastern Canada.  I don’t think that it will make the West Coast until next week.   #26 – Cabled Topper is my latest pattern for Vogue.  I hope that you will like it!

Back to Dreamin’

Happy Knitting

I loved your design in Vogue, the colours were sumptuous! Thanks for the reminder about the Holiday Issue – there’s no holiday at this time in Ireland, so I might have missed it, as I only know of one shop that stocks it here….
