On Organization or the Lack Thereof!

My last minute hurry up Christmas Gift! on the Destiny needles.

My last minute hurry up Christmas Gift! on the Destiny needles.

As you know I am not a particularly organized person – I generally work better with a little chaos – right now I have outdone myself!

My needles are all over the place!  I am looking for some size 7.0mm or even 8.0mm.  something to knit a quick vest as a last-minute gift.  Can I find them anywhere?  NO!  I have a very large collection of needles, all sizes, circular and interchangeable circular, they cannot all be in use!  Maybe Sophie, that cunning dog, has chewed them up and hidden the evidence!

My new Knitting Table - note the needle hanging from the lamp in the background - no wonder I can never find anything!

Really, Sophie is not that cunning and I finally did find some needles that were suitable, more than suitable – I am using Lantern Moon’s Destiny needles in the 8.0mm, 26 inch size.  They have a wonderful smooth surface and join.

I did get a little more organized today.  Carl and Norma came for a visit and brought me a new knitting table.  Carl built it for me.  It is constructed in the Mission Style and is very cool.

Boxes with guide holes keep the yarn neat and out of the way!

It has two walled shelves for my yarn.  There are holes built into the walls of the shelves and each hole has a removable plug.  This allows yarn to sit on the shelf and run through the holes and not go running all over the place!  They work like a charm.

The Great White Bale Explorer pkgs are sold out!  I am so glad that I did organize myself enough to sign up immediately!  I would have been sad to miss out once I decided that I wanted it.

I did finish a couple of projects this weekend.  Do you remember Dreamin’?  Well it is finished and I am thrilled with the results.  I will have to write up the pattern and take some good pictures.

I also finished the Sandstone Fingerless Mittens yesterday – they will definitely be for me!  I still have the mates for the other Fair-isle pieces to knit.  I’ll fit them in between other projects!

Happy Knitting

I think the Lamp is the perfect place to hang circs – I have, just counted them, 40 circs hangling from my task lamp. Out of the way – and when you need one, you can just reach over and grab. Only downfall is that you have measure it for size cause they aren’t in their correct pouches.

    Love that Dreaming yarn
