Every Day is New

A familiar walk that never fails to please me with the views and the sounds of the marsh.

A familiar walk that never fails to please me with the views and the sounds of the marsh.

I walk every weekend morning with my husband and Sophie.  Many of those walks are at the same places, favorite parks and walks around Nanaimo.  Every time the walk is new.

There will be something new to see or a different angle to an old view.  Sometimes the view doesn’t change, doesn’t need to change and will never change.  Those views are often the best.

There is a reason for favorites; for continuity in life.  Stability, Security, Sameness often equals comfort.  We want; most of us to live in comfort, to know what is going to happen, the next day, the next week and the rest of the year.  Change is not always good.

Sunshine, flowers and the business of the bee. We all need purpose - sometimes simple, sometimes complex - we are driven by purpose.

Except when we decide, plan and execute the change.  We humans will often travel to new places; for new experiences; seeking change from the old and inspiration to create the new.

I am not much of a traveller – I could be – given funding – and interest – have you noticed that we usually find money for what we really, really want to do.  But I like the comfort of my home, my surroundings and the small changes that time brings to them.

Yesterdays walk was at Diver’s Lake – todays walk will be in Linley Valley.  Beautiful walks, serene and particularly wonderful given the fabulous weather we are experiencing right now!

I am so full of creative energy!  The 4:00am, Dark of the Morning kind creativity, is in full flow and there is nowhere near enough time to do it all.  Life is only full of the positives as the ideas crackle and flow.

When are you creative?  When do you your idea’s appear?  Do they wake you up – so clear in your head that you can see them?  Or do they creep up and come together like a puzzle, one piece at a time?

My type of creativity is the kind that springs full-blown into your mind – and usually at around 4:00 am – I like to call that the Dark of the Morning!

I believe that we celebrate life with our creativity.  That everything we create, construct and share allows us to celebrate and share life with our friends, family and the world.  Our creative energy fuels the world’s as idea’s build on idea’s – the wheel goes around and comes back again.

Like the bee, busy all the time in the simple, useful functions of it's life. We celebrate by living and creating within our lives. Live well, create often and share your creativity.

Right now my creative brain is overflowing with ideas.  Crackling and calling me awake every morning with new ideas and designs that I can never keep up with.

“All that Jazz is finished, and the pattern writing almost so.  The Knuckleduster mitten are almost there as well.  The sample cloche is done except for the embellishments, that is because Fiona is still waiting for me to write-up the “how to” part to knit and attach them.  But on the plus side she likes the cloche so much that she wants to knit one for herself!

There is a new project – no surprise there – for the Buffalo Wool Company – an E-book entitled Cowgirl Knits.  I am working on a little something for that.  And so many more waiting to be written, knit and published.  Life is good.

Happy Knitting and Creating!

PS.  I think that I need to make a tea-cozy.  For a new pot, it has been a while since I knit a cozy.  What do you think?

Very pretty new tea pot! How do you store your collection of tea pots? And yes the newcomer does need a cozy. Perhaps a KAL?
