It has been a busy week, month, year – pop in the time frame that suits you – because I am not alone in this busyness!
Many of my friends and acquaintances are feeling this sensation of speed in life. Everything is zooming and booming on by and every now and then it would be great to stop and take a breath! …….. This wasn’t the week!
Tamera and I got together for a wonderful photo-shoot down by Departure Bay Beach. It was a beautiful evening, warm and sunny and not much of a breeze.
Tamera did a great job and was a real trooper, especially when I asked her to wear a cloche and mittens knit with Buffalo yarn – 8 times warmer than wool – and then added a fur coat with a great big collar to the mix!
We took photo’s of “All That Jazz” and the Knuckle Duster Mittens; Crystalline; Beaded Frost Flowers Cap and the Celtic Fichu.
I was not entirely happy with the Crystalline shots – there were just too many shadows and light changes – a feature of sundown at the beach I guess!
I just finished the Holden Shawlette last night. The ends still need to be woven in and it needs to be painted, though that won’t be until the painting class at the end of August!
On Thursday we held the North Sea Mittens class – it went very well. The pattern still needs just a little bit of work. The charts for the large size just need to be done. Charts take a little time and sometimes time is at a premium.
I have several patterns at that stage – just needing a little bit of tweaking to be released. The frou-frou for All That Jazz; one more chart for Celtic Fichu; one more chart for Beaded Frost Flowers Cap; etc, etc, etc. Aug could be a very exciting month as everything is finished a new batch takes shape!
Crystalline is a special case. It will be a while before it is finished as I want to have it reknit in a lace weight. I am thinking that it will be stunning in a lace weight! It really is too large done in the worsted, but it is cozy. I am wearing right now. There is a bloody cold breeze coming through the window this morning!
There will be no walking this weekend. My husband is not feeling well. But next weekend is a long weekend – there will be several walks then!
