Really it is supposed to rain today! When we started our walk this morning I was sure it was going to rain. But being where we live and what the weather is like – change is more common than the forecast!

It was very foggy this morning.  We were walking around Lost Lake and the other side was shrouded in Fog.  Trees were dripping and there was lone duck on the Lake.  As we walked around the perimeter we could see the fog lifting, revealing the other side of the lake and the clear reflections of the colourful Autumn vegetation.

More gorgeous reflections.

It has been a great weekend.  Things were accomplished, almost all of the Christmas shopping is done – that is almost unheard of this early.  I have a new pair of boots for walking and to handle the possibly snowy weather ahead!

Now I can take the time to knit up a couple of last-minute gifts and work on my Christmas baking!  I even bought some new tart tins yesterday while shopping.  It was a good day.

Retreat 2014

Brioche and Lace - two technique for one retreat.

Brioche and Lace – two technique for one retreat.

I have been pecking away at the Brioche project for the Retreat and Fiona has started the basic lace scarf sample as well.  I did the lace for the big sample in stockinet and Fiona has done the same lace as a scarf, but knit in garter stitch.  Retreater’s can choose to knit either.

Fiona and I are both working with Fleece Artist Blue Faced Leicester Fine (2/8), a fabulous 3-ply wool.  We will be working with the purple and gold colourway for the Retreat.

Knits in General

I love the new A.S.A.P from MadelineTosh.  This bulky merino knit up into a pair of mittens in a day and there was just enough yarn left over to create some twisted cord to hold the mittens together – I hate to lose my mittens!

I have a couple of new idea’s cooking around in my brain for the Buffalo Wool Co., now that the projects for CowGirl Up! are done.  I will post more later.

Happy Knitting
