Mum’s the Word!

I don’t know about you but I have the post Christmas Blah’s.

Much higher resolution leads to much better details on the cropped distance shots. Love this brown squirrel.

There are too many left-over baked sweets, too much chocolate and too much of everything good!  For example my lunch today is open faced cheese on bread – broiled in the oven – pretty innocuous right?  The problem being that the cheese choices included left-over brie and Shropshire Blue from the Christmas Cheese board.  The Shropshire has been judiciously mixed with the extra old cheddar, also left-over.

"Mums the Word!" My new tea-cozy.

“Mums the Word!” My new tea-cozy.

To combat the blah’s I have finished a couple of projects – my new tea-cozy is doing double duty as a new Spring Class for Mad About Ewe and as a cozy for my new teapot – “Mum’s the Word!” and the fingerless mittens for a little princess.  That has helped – now I am looking for other projects to finish and/or start.  There is no shortage of choices.

  • 2 painting projects – shawls – more that half done
  • 1 circular shawl – just started – but oh so pretty
  • 3 sweaters half started
  • another tea-cozy
  • slippers to finish

Or a new option – As I was cruising my stash last weekend I “found” this gorgeous Mohair, about 1000 metre’s it will knit up very quickly into a wonderful sweater!  Right beside it was a couple of balls of another yarn – a silk/wool blend – and don’t they look great together!  That is the wonderful thing about stash – yarns in it have a tendency to match-up!  This might be the project of choice.

The princess's new mittens are finished.

I got a new camera and lens for Christmas – well Christmas, Birthday (also December) and earnings combined.

The Canon EOS 60D creates pictures with higher resolution and does Video’s!  Something that I have been wanting to add to my blog – video how-to’s – but first I have to learn how to use that feature of the camera.  And after a couple of tries it appears that I might be a little slow on the uptake!  Time for some more studying.

Part of the Camera kit was a new lens – the EFS 18 to 200 – not sure about it – seems heavier and slower than my old zoom.  But I have managed to take a few really good shots this last week. Again it is that learning curve.

We walked at Neck Point on Thursday and at Pipers this morning – the pictures are from both places.

Happy Viewing
