Sunrise on Friday!

Sunrise on Friday!

It has been a cold and bright kind of week around here.  Colder than normal, brighter than normal and feeling more like a traditional winter than normal!

I am looking forward to a West Coast Normal Day!  I think that I need a little grey!

One advantage to the cold and clear days are the beautiful sunrises that we have been experiencing this last week.  Just a few clouds to paint the sky with the light from the rising sun.

I taught yesterday – a fun class – great students combined with a fun technique – makes for a very quick and rewarding day!

The View to the North - clear and cold blue seas and skies.

Today we walked at Neck Point and I think my wish is going to come true.

Cold snow and bare Alders - it is definitely Winter now.

It has been a long time since I have seen snow at Neck Point.  It was cold, clear and crisp.  The ground underfoot was very hard all over and slippery in spots with the packed down snow.  I didn’t see as many birds as normal, but there were a few around.  It was a very good walk.

To the North of us Clear, Cold, Blue Skies and the to the South, Grey, Glowering Grey Clouds, dropping some kind of precipitation across the Straight of Georgia.  Maybe the weather man will be right for a change and the weather will go back to normal.  I have been feeling restless;  I think that I need to feel some normal – maybe finish the Brioche Wrap – which is now more than half done!  It is after all only two weeks to go until the Retreat!

Buffalo Wool Co Sexy - Annie Oakley colourway - This is one gorgeous yarn. It is going to be the Squash Blossom Shawl!

Buffalo Wool Co Sexy – Annie Oakley colourway – This is one gorgeous yarn. It is going to be the Squash Blossom Shawl!

I have been working on the Squash Blossom Shawl – formerly Mexican Fiesta – renamed because of the Beaded Squash Blossom Ribbon Pattern that I will be adding as the border – I have designed and charted it with beads and lace and can hardly wait to start it!  But I am still 50 rounds away!

I have working pretty steadily on it over the weekends – and should be ready to start the border in about 2 – 3 weeks.  I just started the second hank of the Annie Oakley.  So I am about 1/4 of the way through the shawl!

To the South - new weather moving in!

Yesterday I also cast-on a new project with some Sweet Georgia Silk Mist, in the Ultra Violet colourway.  I was demonstrating the Cat Bordi Moebius Cast-on – Really!  The 2 rounds that I did get knit are the start of a Beaded “Silk Cloud” for next fall!

Happy Winter – keep warm and cozy and knit lots!
