Almost There!

This is the first year in about five that the deer haven't eaten the Lion Daisy's to the ground! Spring is here!

Next week we will see the opening of a new KAL on Ravelry – Spring into Summer. Spring is a circular lace shawl, created with a Pi structure and heavily beaded. Including a crochet beaded detail crocheted to the edging join.

It has been a couple of years since I last created a KAL project and it seems like the timing is right! The first shawl I knit was in undyed yarn – Einband – that I intended for painting with dyes. Fiona has been test knitting the “normal” version. A beautiful Green Malabrigo Lace. Last night she posted a picture of the shawl blocking! Fiona has done a great job – it is beautiful.

Now I am working on a few smaller projects, mittens and lace, caps and hats.  Some projects for the Buffalo Wool Co and some for me and/or the store.  I am having limited success as I am a little distracted – one of the projects is frogged and awaiting a reknit!

...To this. Some projects just need a little tweaking!

You see – I am waiting to start a bigger project – the yarn is on its way and everything is hush, hush!  So things might be a little quiet on the knitting front for a while!  LOL!

I am very excited by this KAL – the project sort of grew organically.  The shawl was originally just going to be a painting project for me.  But – encouraged by comments of others and my own excitement about the shawl that was appearing on the needles – I decided to write-up the pattern.

A sneak peak! Waiting for the crochet edging!

A sneak peek at the Fiona’s Malabrigo! Waiting for the crochet edging!

I was not disappointed!  Fiona has shown how beautiful the pattern really is!  I hope that you will think so as well!

On Sunday, Tamera, Fiona and I will be off looking for the perfect local for pictures!  Do you have suggestions?  I was thinking of a Garden setting of some kind.  Milner won’t work this weekend as we have time constraints – something closer to home?

Happy Knitting

Both versions of your lace shawl are very beautiful!
I can also identify with the deer situation – they think our front lawn was meant to be a smorgasbord for them.
