Last weekend I was teaching at the Fibre Fest in Campbell River! Which was a wonderful weekend – I’ll post on that tomorrow – I still need to finish editing the pictures!

Two of a kind!

Two of a kind!

When I got home Sunday afternoon I was struck by how much was blooming or on the verge of blooming in the backyard.  I took a few pictures – it had just rained and there were drops of water on the tulips – they looked so fresh and beautiful.

This is the first year ever for tulips.  The deer love them and until we fenced the yard for Sophie – there was no point in even trying!  I am adding more colours this fall!

Rosemary in bloom - the hummingbirds and bees have been hovering around them!

Because of Sophie our backyard has been a project of inches.  Each year we add more and see what works and what Sophie digs up!  I think that we might finally be seeing results.

This is both good and bad – good because I love the flowers and colours – bad because – now I want to add more!

The new Rhododendron is just about to bloom and one of the new Azalea’s is blooming and the other is showing colour!  The Lilac is just starting to open and in the evening there are traces of fragrance – by this weekend it will be in full bloom!  I will be spending lots of time out in the backyard this weekend I think!

Beautiful Vibrant Azalea!

The Annual Rhododendron sale is this weekend and Morrell Sanctuary is having it’s plant sale as well!  Oh the trouble I will get into!

I hope that your garden is growing well!

Happy Knitting
