It was a symphony of colour, texture and fibre at the Campbell River Fibre Festival last weekend!

I arrived just in time for the Show and Share Friday evening and the activities never stopped and were still going strong when I left Sunday afternoon.  There were more vendors, teachers and people this year than last year and the event was a roaring success – I am already looking forward to next year!

Show and Share was a wonderful sharing of projects of all varieties.  From the youngest participant, Meika’s bracelets, through a wealth of  knitting quilting, weaving and everything in between – each piece was shared with love and knowledge of craft.  This festival is to support Special Needs students learning handwork and they were well represented at the Show and Share!

After the Sharing Sally Melville gave a wonderful talk about “Why we do what we do!”, with the Science to explain it all!  More inspiration!

The evening was capped off with an invitation from the Curator of the Museum at Campbell River to come to a special opening and lecture called “Threads Through Time” for Saturday evening – this was all about the history of textiles on the West Coast!

More to say but no more time to write.  I will add some more tomorrow!  It will be like being there!  LOL!

Happy Viewing
