Cactus Blooms

Delicate and beautiful - just 1/2 inch across.

Lots of buds still to open.

Lots of buds still to open.

I have one cactus plant. It used to be my son’s.  I saved it when he moved out, about eight years ago.  I popped it into my Pony Tail plant pot and basically ignored it!   It has refused to die.

It is not a particularly attractive cactus – all spines and hard to work around, but it wasn’t dead so I kept it.  It does have beautiful flowers – something I didn’t know to begin with.

Such and intense colour - could you imagine a desert covered in such blooms?!

It has only bloomed once before, about two or three years ago.  Right now it is blooming again and not just one flower – it has multiple buds and multiple blooms!  It has been blooming for about 3 weeks with more buds to open!

Yeah Cactus!
