Poppy Daze

How beautiful the details and colours!

The poppy in the front yard is blooming!  It looks like there will be at least ten blooms and the colours are amazing!  This poppy has been here for a couple of years now; but last year it only had two blooms!

As they open I am amazed by the colours in the center, purple, green and burgundy.  The petals themselves are highlighted with a deep purple base.  The petals look so delicate and papery, though I have seen them withstand a violent rain storm and stand tall afterwards!

White Poppies with a glowing yellow center!

The variety of poppy colours and shapes is also incredible.  We see many red Oriental Poppies and the brilliant orange California Poppy but the colour of this Poppy was new to me.  As is the new White Poppy that I got for the back garden this year!

Happy Viewing
