Today at Morden Colliery Park Sophie disturbed a couple of frogs in the marsh. One of them stayed around to be photographed!
It was a gorgeous day at Morden. The trees were lush and green and the shade that they provided was a welcome relief from the heat that we are now experiencing. The walk was punctuated by a breeze that would spring up and then subside – providing even more cooling.
LOL! I know – we are never happy with the weather!
The birds were in full song. Clear and piercing though the calls were, the birds themselves were well hidden by the dense undergrowth.
I love the wild flowers at this time of year the colours are fresh and intense against the greens behind them.
In particular Queen Anne’s Lace is endlessly fascinating to me. From the curled up buds to the fireworks opening of each stem to the solid white display of flower. Every stage is beautiful!
I hope that you have a great day. Today we are celebrating my son Gareth’s birthday!
Pretty much everything is done. It will be a cold supper. I roasted the Chicken this morning and most of the salads; Tzatiki, Pea’s, Tomato and Salami, are already done. Only the Greek Salad is left to put together. I hope that it will be just about perfect for this weather. Dessert will be Strawberry’s and Angel Food cake with lots of Whipping Cream.
Beth will be home for the evening as well – a perfect ending for the day!
Happy Summer Times
